Visited Zanzibar for the very first time as a school boy, way back in the early 1970's, black and white television, rember watching replys of the 1974 World Cup in Zanzibar Hotel and only a hand full of hotels to chose from back than.
It has changed at quite a pace and now offers international chains of hotels in the Stone Town and along its beaches.
It has become very touristic and expensive if I may say so.
Pristine beaches, Arabian Dhows, colourful bazaars, a mystifying network of

Zanzibar Island was once the world's largest producer of cloves.
|Although cloves are still a major export along with coconut products

earner, with more visitors coming to
Zanzibar Island each year.
At this stage, the numbers are less than 100,000 annually, and the potential for tourism is relatively untapped.
