ZANZIBAR DHOW WEDDING
ITINERARY: • Two modes of transportation are available: a local dala dala (an open truck, converted to a taxi that can seat up to 20 people), beautifully decorated with palm fronds, draped netting and local flowers or an air-conditioned 17 seater bus. Set out for historic Stone Town from Mtoni. • The bride and her entourage are transported separately to the same location in Stone Town. • At the launch point, a traditional Arabic sailing dhow awaits and the party sets sail for the perfect oceanic location, with atmospheric Stone Town in the background. |

• Father Charles conducts a beautiful ceremony on the water. • Then take in the sunset with a glass of bubbly and watch the islets pass by while celebrating this most romantic union, listening to the back ground sounds of Seca Sound. • Just after dark, two huge bonfires are lit on the beach of Beit il Mtoni and as the dhow/s approach, the sounds of Ngoma Drummers and Dancers welcomes the party to shore. • A festive table is set on the beach where our friendly staff will attend to every need. • During dinner resident Taraab/Bashraf band serenade the wedding party with their soothing, soulful sounds. |

NB. For safety and insurance reasons, more than 16 people cannot be
carried on a single dhow. Passengers on the Bridal Dhow include Father Charles, a photographer and two musicians, leaving space for the bride, groom and ten guests. Up to 80 people can be transported on additional dhows. |
