Getting There:
Direct daily flights from Zanzibar, Dar, Mafia and Arusha. From
Ruaha on Tue, Fri and Sun.
Driving can be arduous
but may be fun for the driving enthusiast.
Camp description
8 double tents all overlooking the Rufiji River and raised on wooden
platforms. En suite bathrooms with flush toilets, and powerful
showers with hot water available on demand.
Swimming Pool overlooking the Rufiji River.
Comfortable Lodge with sitting area, dining area, campfire, terrace
and bar, overlooking the river.
Activities
Game drives in open 4WD vehicles, fly camping on request at extra
cost, birding, boating on the Rufiji River, picnics & bush lunches.
Walking and Fishing may be offered with supplementary cost.
Opening dates
Year round, except for circa 25th March (depending on rains) to 1st
June, when the camp is closed because rains close the airstrips.
How to get there
Numerous daily scheduled flights to Mtemere from Zanzibar, Arusha &
Dar.
By Road through Kibiti and Mtemere Gate.

costing $500.- USD per person, is worth taking. The early morning safari
enables one to sail across plains, watching the wild denizens as they

Selous Impala Camp is a
truly beautiful camp located on the banks of the Rufiji River,
Selous Game Reserve.
There are just 6 beautifully furnished en-suite tents at Selous
Impala built on platforms, giving superb views of the Rufiji River
and its wildlife.
Set amidst Borassa Palms and Tamarind Trees.
The camp provides
superb comfort, wonderful wildlife and dining is under the stars.
Hosted by the widely experienced Sean and Fiona Torrie who will
ensure warm hospitality and wholesome food.

Selous Impala has skilled and knowledgeable guides who will lead the
game drives, boat trips, walking excursions and fly camping.
Opening officially for the 2004 season on 4th June.
Selous Impala, this
year addition to the family of Adventure Camps is being erected in
the Selous, Africa’s largest game reserve.
This untouched,
uninhabited area, is home to the biggest herds of elephants and
wildlife anywhere in the world. |

Location: The
tents are placed on left bank of the main Rufiji River with a
spectacular view of the forest beyond.
Accommodation: 6 large, comfortable tents equipped with
luxurious furniture, shower, WC, dressing area and spacious verandah. Set amidst Borassa
Palms and Tamarind trees.
Excursions:
This large meandering river with it’s network of channels,
connecting lakes and swamps offers our visitors the unique
opportunity to go on safari by boat and experience the spectacular
concentration of wildlife from a unusual perspective.
Game drives and
walking excursions are also very rewarding.

Our rates include: Accommodation, full board (3 meals daily),
transfer to and from airstrip to camp. (When applicable).
Excursions: fly-in clients: 2 excursions per day. Choice from
2 game drives or 1 game drive and 1 boat safari As an alternative we
offer the option of a full day game drive with picnic lunch.
Drive in clients: One boat excursion is included in the
rates.
Our rates do not include: Exclusive use of vehicle.
Beer, local and imported spirits and wines, champagne, cognacs,
cigars and cigarettes. Laundry is not included. Gratuities to staff
and items of a personal nature.
