For Safaris, the general rule is the longer the better, particular in large areas such as the Serengeti, Ruaha and the Selous.
While it is possible to "see" plenty of wildlife on a day trip or an overnight excursion, you'll need more time to experience the more subtle attractions of Tanzania's magnificent wilderness areas.
We recommend you allow up to 5 days for a serious safari in the northern circuit allowing you to get of the main roads and explore a bit.
In the south and in places you can fly in and out, you could have an excellent experience with 3/4 days focused on one park or reserve.
With mountain climbing we always advice the clients to take one extra day longer for the climb giving yourself a better chance of success due to better acclimation.
Please note that booking a safari well in advance is recommended.
The 1 hour balloon safari costing $500.- USD per person, is worth taking. The early morning safari enables one to sail across plains, watching the wild denizens as they rise from slumber at the break of the day. All Safari's are private
safari's just for your group (PRIVATE SAFARI) so that you can enjoy
more. The vehicle will be a safari 4x4 landrover or a safari 4x4 landcruiser with all window seats and pop up roofs for wildlife viewing. A cool box, a pair of binoculars and reference books on mammals, birds, flora and fauna are all standard equipment in each vehicle. Safaris operates with 4x4 safari vehicles and strives to ensure the best combination of comfort and effectiveness. The terrain does not allow for luxury-style vehicles. Vehicles are equipped with the necessary safari equipment, as well as a basic first-aid kit. Safari driver/guides are well trained for handling vehicles under extreme 4x4 and safari conditions and put the safety of our clients first at all times. Transport arrangements are ensured and facilitated to the very last detail on behalf of the client, e.g. when it is necessary to take a domestic flight, if we can not collect you personally, transport will be arranged to and from your accommodation. |
