Mdonya Old River, a
small but great Adventure Camp, is the newest and perhaps most
exciting bush destination in
Tanzania. As the name implies, we aim to offer
something different at Mdonya Old River for those clients who seek
adventure, by:-
*Driving yourself through the bush accompanied by a guide, of course.
*Walking beside the Great Ruaha
River accompanied by a trained Park Ranger.
*Dining out in the bush.
Plus other activities designed to the clients needs by Malcolm our
experienced Camp Manager, who will keep you fit and busy.
Of course
for those just wanting traditional game drive safaris we offer that
too.

The dining and lounge tents are under Sycamore Fig trees
overlooking the dry river bed, so guests can enjoy the game viewing
even while having lunch or relaxing reading a book.
With just 8 twin bedded tents, all with en-suite out door
facilities, (this means they can shower watching the rising moon or
a shooting star), Mdonya Old River is a small camp offering a
personal service designed to your clients needs.
Location: Located
in the Ruaha
National Park, the second largest in Tanzania, few kilometers from Mdonya Falls and a two-hour exciting game drive from
the airstrip, the camp, in its simplicity, lets you feel absorbed in
forest life.
The tents are
located on the bank of Old Mdonya, now a sand river game, like to
use as corridor.
|
|
Accommodation: Scattered under the shade of large sycamore
figs and Acacia albida, there are only 8 tents, each with its own
toilette and shower. The tents are simple and comfortable, furnished
with twin beds veiled by mosquito net and with large verandah where
you can relax and observe wildlife around you.
Excursions: The
camp is located at the centre of a wilderness area and sitting in
the camp with a book and a pair of binoculars may be quite rewarding…However
game drives are flexible and not limited by any schedule!! |
