The

Mangrove Lodge’s

philosophy

Haji Ramadhan Ali spent the last ten years in the Zanzibar archipelago discovering its wonders together with European tourists.

Haji now welcomes travelers to his own Lodge, the Mangrove, helped by Marina, an Italian from Milan graduated in Economics, who decided to move to Zanzibar in 2007.

The Mangrove has been built with the support of Laura and Paolo, close long time Italian friends, and consists of 5 bungalows with a beautiful tropical garden surrounded by jungle vegetation.

The Mangrove Lodge has also been built respecting the local traditions and craftwork, employing neighborhood workers and using regional materials.

The management aim is to create a quite, natural and peaceful environment, in which the slow and pacific pace of the Zanzibar people will allow you to forget the stresses of everyday life.

Our main course specialties are grilled fish, lobsters, local seafood and tasty traditional dishes, made of simple and fresh ingredients arriving daily from local producers.

The beaches

From the bungalows you can easily reach 2 different beaches walking through short paths among the banana trees.

If you are looking for peace and intimacy there is the mangroves bay, amazing during the high tide, where you can watch the local fishermen departing into the sunset every night on their ngalawas and dhows, typical Zanzibar boats.

Mawimbini beach is definitively livelier and you can enjoy a stunning sunset.

Mangrove Lodge
