ZANZIBAR READY FOR THE HIGH SEASON
In the last few weeks, there has been many speculations in regard to the current power issues and the preparation for Zanzibar businesses towards high season. To this factor, people engage in hotels, beach resorts, restaurants, tour and transport operators will carry on business as usual and are ready to receive, meet and deliver the needs of an international traveler.
The Zanzibar Association of Tourism Investors (Z.A.T.I) is non-governmental, non-religious, and non-political organization. According to the Chairman of Z.A.T..I, Mr Simai Mohammed Said, the weather now in Zanzibar is perfect and warm, the dhow continues to sail, sunsets remain to be magical, the water is clear and top for divingand snorkeling, spices and fruits are plenty with the combination of the unique culture and Zanzibar hospitality a tourist is most likely will not notice the difference.
Many of the hotels and resorts have always had back power system such generators and solar. The only affect that the current power issues has had on the industry is the rising of fuel prices in the globalmarket which has affected many tourist destination in terms of pricing and marketing around the world.
Zanzibaris now one of the leading tourist destination in the Indian Ocean islands, Zanzibar’s lasting mystique has attracted travelers from around the world for centuries. From its early days as a Swahili port, Zanzibar has done a thriving business in the cargo of the day.

Merchants from Oman, Gujarat and around the Indian Ocean moved their families from across the ocean to start a life in Zanzibar, some amassing great fortunes and building the high stone houses so indicative of Stone Town today.
Although Swahili civilization in the area of Kilwa Kisiwani further south peaked in the 14th century, Zanzibar’s prosperity came much later, with the arrival of the Omani sultans in the 18th century. Living and ruling from Stone Town, the sultans presided over the slave and ivory trade, plantingvast spice plantations that survive to this day.

Tanzania Annexed by Kenya!!
Tanzania natural tourist attractions will be “annexed” by its better organized neighbours.
Tanzanian Tourist Attractions have always been strongly advertised and marketed by Kenya and finally Tanzania is waking up.
For instance Mount Kilimanjaro is believed by many to be in Kenya.
Some so called travel experts to this day even say that half of the Kilimanjaro is in Kenya!!
They go further to comment that the views of our Kili are better from the Kenyan side!!
I challenge them as I did my Geography teacher as a teenager in Europe to open up their Atlas or better still visit Google Earth and show us which part exactly of our Mount Kilimanjaro lies in Kenya.
The Kili- Mount Kilimanjaro lies entirely in Tanzania, ladies and gentlemen.
Regarding better views from the Kenyan side, we were wondering does the Tanzanian side have cloud cover more often then on the Kenyan side or is it that skyscrappers on the Tanzanian side spoil and obscure the view:0)
Its good to see Tanzania waking up to its natural resources!!
Otherwise before long the Kenyans would probably if they havent already, annex the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro!!

All your equipment will be carried by vehicles or local porters; you only carry a daypack with personal gear.
When camping you will not have to participate in camp chores.
Fresh produce is bought locally and to ensure good standards of hygiene all food is prepared by personal cook.

From the mists of equatorial jungle to the snows and breath-taking views of the summit, Mount Kilimanjaro is one of the worlds renown landmarks of Tanzania.
Mount Kilimanjaro- A sight so stunning, it can only dominate and etch itself into one’s memory forever.
The mountain owes its existence to the formation of the Great Rift Valley and is actually three volcanic cones that, due to their proximity, became one - Shira, Mawenzi and Kibo - together they make the highest free standing mountain in the world.
It is possible to climb this ‘wedding cake’ mountain all year round although the best times are the dry months of January, February and July through to September.
Anglers can find trout in the delightful crystal cold rivers up to a height of 2001 meters (6557ft).
The most interesting aspect during the climb is the textbook vegetational boutiques to market stalls donation- distinct bands of vegetation at different altitudes.
First one comes across grassland, where at night , one can hear the clatter of galagos and can see the genet cat, although this zone is most notable for its prolific birdlife.
Next there is the damp forest zone. Dense trailing fronds of lianas hang everywhere from trees with heavily buttressed trunks. Here a wealth of animal and birdlife abounds as does the Impatiens
Kilimanjaro - a scarlet and yellow flower found nowhere else in the world. The alpine zone is made up entirely of giant hearth and moorland and here you may catch sight of rare birds of prey.
The auger buzzard, Mackinder’s owl, Verreaux’s eagle and the Lammergeier who mostly feed on rodent.
The last two zones of highland-desert and summit are the most testy with about half the oxygen at sea level, high ultraviolet Radiation by day and freezing temperatures by night.
Those who conquer this enigmatic mountain, find themselves left breathless for more than one reason.
The summit of this mountain, Uhuru Peak, is the highest point in Africa, and Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest free standing mountain in the world.
